RAD Solutions: WORK IN PROGRESS MATERIAL KIT ISSUE (KITI)
Work In Progress Material Kit Issue (KITI) is a Radio Inventory Bridge (RIB) module for EFACS ERP which has been introduced to provide real time inventory updates for MULTI and FIXED location parts, as the stock is issued to EFACS works orders.
In fast moving stock environments, the time lag between the physical issue and the reduction of inventory in your ERP system can paint a misleading and confused picture of inventory levels. This can have a knock on effect to the replenishment planning against reported inventory levels and increase the risk of over stocking. In this scenario, inventory levels in EFACS no longer provide a real time representation of actual physical inventory.
By performing the kit issue from the shop floor as the stock is passed to production, the RIB KITI module ensures inventory remains accurate and in real time. Validation ensures that the right product is issued against the right works order allocation and for the correct quantity.
The RIB administrator can enhance this functionality by providing templates. For example a business process requires that transistors are always issued to works orders from SHELF1 in the CLEANROOM.
The EFACS administrator could, for example, create a template called MAIN WAREHOUSE ISSUES where the component, warehouse and location are already entered for the user, the template would only prompt the user for works order number and enter the issue quantity.
